Robja, I fish out of Brigantine N.J. Mostly from the surf. Permits to run the beaches in a 4 wheel drive make it easy. You surf fish? I envy your Tarpon catch. Not many of them in the Jersey surf. Thanks for the welcome.

I surf fish some in front of the house. Where I am surf fishing ends up being mostly sharks and skates due to being close to a river inlet. I mostly fish offshore or blue water. We have a lot of people from NJ on here. Also there is a surf fishing section in the forums for those that do alot of surf fishing. You get the striper runs and probably big blues and down where I am we don't get that.

Stripers were pretty well wiped out of the Cape Fear until a few yeas ago. I have seen some in some of the papers but not heard of any being caught on the beaches down here. Gottafly(Lee) might know more since he is about 30 mi. north of me.

SeaSalt, welcome to the forum, hum I see the conversion has turned to stripers.

Our Stripers here won't make it that far north, but we do get a great run on the Roanoke River in April and May and some of them will make it up there and some of yours that were tagged there show up here during the Striper run we have. Click "you want some of this" in my signature and you will get the drift..., may warm you up some...
Up the Cape Fear River now we can find some nice schoolies each day but you are going to earn them, lots of fun when not much else to chase...
Remember to post lots of pictures...we love pictures...
    MirrOlure when big fish count!
