I don't give anyone anything. I'm a fisherman, not law enforcement. I don't feel like I'm superior to anyone.

Now, I don't believe anyone should just be allowed to sneak in this country illegally. However if someone goes through the proper channels to become a U.S. citizen, I'm fine with that.

People have been coming to this country legally or not for hundreds of years from all different countries. With the current dangers to our citizens, the illegal aliens entering at will needs to come to a stop.

As many here on SFC.....we have pride in America.....and would do anything for our country..........

I WOULD APPRECIATE that this THREAD be about...the rescuers who are there IN HARMS WAY with a populaton that is out of control.....let THEM BE SAFE....


when i originated this thread and like many who made a donation....i was hoping that the CHAOS in Haiti would NOT overcome the relief ...GUESS WHAT....HUMANITARIAN EFFORT....is in place....an UNCIVILIZED country is OUT of hand....

it wasn't that long ago,our own country,we had the gulf region in devistation,anyone remember this ?? some of those people are still to this day living in trailers...sad huh ??
in our own country,we've got a serious economic problem,people are out of work,biz sucks,people are losing their houses,we have uninsured people who desperatly need medical care-do i really need to continue ?? but,in the midst of all this,we're sending troops,and money to help these people...don't get me wrong,anyone who knows me,knows i would give the shirt off my back to help someone...but,is this really a good idea ?? honestly,doesn't charity begin at home...

i'm with you. nobody helped us. we have people here that need help.

I guess there was another earthquake again today. When is it going to stop? Also sounds like the people are starting to get the aid they need quicker and without as much chaos with the help from other countries. Hope everything gets back to normal soon.

A buddy just got back... Said it was utter chaos down there. Somebody would get food after waiting in forever line only to be beaten and have it taken before they could make it back to their loved ones. He watched gangs kick the crap out of some poor schleps who got lucky and scored a bottle of water or bag of rice. Some of the serve and eat there sites seem to have a little better luck at least getting food to the kids. Lots of police and and army presence doing little to keep the shitty side from happening once they get more than a hundred yards from relief station.
He said the rescue workers them selves really havn't been targeted but again they are travelling shoulder to shoulder. Said this mornings tremor had the whole place on edge. I remember thunderstorms days after Andrew having the same effect...
