I have just started fishing with Gulp for flounder and find it works as well or better than minnows. My question is how long does a Gulp bait last. The bait itself seems almost indestructible, but how long is it effective.

Are you using the Gulp shrimp? I have had decent success with them and the seem to last at least 5 fish (for me anyhow). after that I have just changed them.
How are you rigging them? on a jig head or on just a plain kahle hook?

eppefour, are you asking how long the sent lasts through the day? As you may know, the longer that the Gulp in out of the water, it starts to shrink, so when you move spot to spot, keep them wet, either in water or the juice that they came in. The Gulp is suppose to be impregnated through the entire grub, so it should last a very long time, most of the day if it does not get eaten off the hook...![]()
I do have a costumer that changes his out every 20 casts or so, but I do not/ I will not support his habit...![]()

Put them back in the can of juice and even when you have used all the bait keep the juice and put anything in it.
Gulp is a godsend for me on the kayak. A lot less of a mess than cut or live bait.
I use a bait until it is eaten or can't be rehooked because bait stealers have beaten it up. My wife gave me one of the spray bottles that Gulp puts out with the juice in it, a squirt of it after the bait has been in the water for a while seems to help. When I empty a container of the baits, I put the juice into the spray bottle. The stuff does work as a scent on other lures, giving me more bang for my buck.
Definitely put the gulp back in the juice when your running to another spot or when you're done for the day. I buy the big jugs of gulp penny shrimp and the redfish love it. Do not leave a gulp on a lead-head or flutter hook because it will shrink and harden...and you will just have to throw the hook and all away.
Another tip is when we use up all the baits in the jug, we keep the juice and put our sabiki rigs in the juice, still on the little card, and pull it out when we go to catch bait the next moring. You will load up on bait!

I've just been usingthe on regular flounder hoos not jigs. I had tried them in the past and not done well. I read an article that then only way to learn a technique was to leave the other baits at home and only use the thing you want to learn. That's what I did. It worked well. I caught quite a few fish although no keepers.
If I catch a limit of flounder and have Joe on board, I'll have to worry about my gas mileage. All that weight plus my fat ass will definitely burn gas
