    Gulf workers--- lost wages

As I understand things, BP has set aside $100 million to compensate oil rig workers who are laid off due to the temporary moratorium on all offshore drilling. In addition, other Gulf region workers may file claims for lost wages and income due to the oil spill.
My questions are: Are the claimants required to work on the cleanup effort to offset these payments? Is there any double dipping prevention measures, i.e., a fisherman receiveing payment for lost income due to the inability to fish( or what ever) AND at the same time receiving wage payments for working on the cleanup?
It seems like a record keeping nightmare either way.

What will happen to all the jobs when the floating oil drilling rigs move to other counties to drill off shore during the moratorium. No one will keep a $560 Million dollar (cost of the Deepwater Horizon) idle for 6 months if there is work elsewhere. Even if the oil workers go with the rigs, the Oil industry support business in the US Gulf will suffer. Furthermore, why is BP fiscally responsible for an action taken by the Federal Government?

    The SnowBall Effect,

Is just getting started I'm afraid. I'm sorry but I see this as a "lose-lose" situation for all involved. The Gov't or BP in and among themselve's can't make this right. The oil well has to be shut off and the oil cleaned up before anyone's life can get back to "normal", whatever "normal" is. Frank
