Groups team up to fight invasive species

Groups team up to fight invasive species

Wildlife Forever and the National Professional Anglers Association are joining forces in the battle against invasive species.

"This new partnership between Wildlife Forever and the NPAA will empower the more than 400 NPAA members and a growing number of NPAA supporting partners with the facts they need to help eliminate the threat that invasive species pose to our waterways," said Pat Neu, the angler association's executive director.

Wildlife Forever's collaborative conservation efforts, called the Threat Campaign, reach out to youth and adults to arm them with the knowledge needed to protect habitat and wildlife in a changing environment.

Invasive species are one of the greatest threats facing the American landscape, according to Wildlife Forever.

Its a great idea Mary..but as were seeing with the Asian carp..too little to late..any association or bureau tasked with eliminating threats gets the ball rolling after the fox has left the chicken coop..or totally screws it up by introducing a natural predator to combat the threating species..the predator ends up being worse that the original threat....vicisous circle..

Ain't that the truth. The predator can be worse than the original problem.

Not trying to make excuses for fish and game. A lot of time these things get a foot hold before its even known they are their. Especially the littl things like mussels and such.

We are gonna see an epidemic in De Bay from the mitten crab, its already in raritan bay pretty heavily.
