    As far as your USCG paperwork it doesn't have to be exact. I believe the smallest tonnage to qualify for is 25 therefore anything under 25GT qualifies for 25 GT.

    Check with the USCG, but I beleive you only need a whole number (ie 4) for the tonnage of the vessel; not a calculation out a couple decimal places (ie 3.675).

    The wet weight on my boat is 18 tons. The documented GRT is 29 tons.

    That's 11 tons of people and stuff. Figuring a couple of hundred pounds for your average Beef Cake type of fisherman, aren't we all?, Let's see, 11 tons of beef times 2000 lbs per ton, divided by 200 pounds per fisherman, Oh I get it now, that means I can take 110 of my closest friends on a fishing trip. More if I don't top it off.

    Taken right off my CG Certificate........hope this clears it up!
