Why restructure mortgages on select Americans?????

The way I see it is.....restructure all mortgages of all Americans. I for one would like a 4% mortgage. One % is one %. I pay my mortgage every month like clock work.

So, if the government is going to get in the business of restructuring mortgages......sign us all up......not sign up some.

I'm with you, since they're loaning you your own money back, it could be less than 4%. Here's a good one, let everyone keep their own Social Security money in a fund, and when they have enough, they can borrow from themselves putting the interest back into the kitty with the principal.

you would think Obama and company would see this restructuring for everyone. The money saved in monthly payment...Bout 3 grand a year per household can pay one hell of a fuel and tackle bill or dilly wipes if you are from the left

I just did it all by myself... 4.8 APR... saved 500 per month.... yippee to low rates.

in the process of doing it as we speak, locking in a rate 4.75% gonna save me couple of hundred bucks a month.

I hear you Flat. I built a house 4 years ago....30 year fixed at 5.625. Did it right, none of that variable bs...no interest only crap. What do I get for doing things right and paying my mortgage on time? Probably a tax increase.

I'm confused, I built my house also 4 yrs ago at 6% 30 yrs fixed rate. Never been late always paid on time, why don't you guys call your bankers to refiannace now rates around 4.5-4.875, it only cost your the appraisal fee of 350.00, all other cost can be put back into refinance. If it saves my a couple of hundred every month and probably would most other people why wouldn't more do it then.
