    Great White Shark In Captivity!?!

I just found this article. I think it is pretty amazing...

Let me know what you guys think.

I can't believe there isn't a governing body for these kind of decisions and disputes on whether or not this shark is allowed to be kept captive, and that it actually comes down to the opinions of the individuals who wish to make it captive.

I just watched a show about the one they had before. Seems to me they will have the same problems this time around. Changing nature will not be an easy task.

VAKingFisher I wil agree. The great white is the top dog in the sea and its just in him to get rid of anything thats in his way to be the top dog! Did you see how fast that shark grew.Put on like 125 lbs and grew all most 1 1/2'.

I have been a lover of sharks for 19 of my 23 yrs on this earth. I do not understand how something that is endangered would be federally allowed to be kept in captivity when the last time they tried it resulted in the death of an amazing animal. Just my 2 cents but I say LET IT GO!!!

What a huge subject!!! Aquariums are great and they are sad. How would you like to go from migrating thousands of miles to hundreds of feet? No wonder they die!!! I am surprised Killer whales live so well in captivity. Education is a strong argument to use, but to what cost. The people that you are educating are not really the ones that make the decisions. The governments know what is going on......it is to what degree do they want to get involved?

We as a people are consuming, destroying, and raping the earth we live on. I recently read an article that stated in around 50 years we will have used up most of our natural resources. It sounds impossible, but think of how the world has changed since 1950!!!!!

I think that in our lifetime(next 30 or so years) we will see some very drastic changes.......hopefully for the better!!!!

Education? It may be a strong argument but I ain't buying it. I say let em go- the sharks, dolphins, whales, and if anyone wants to see them they can just get off their lazy arses and get on a boat. I really hope to see some changes in our lifetime...Hope you are right.
