The Great Iguana and Quackho Hunt

I love to billfish but when LC and I heard that Iguana could be on the menu tonight we decided to jump at the chance. So we went to see the sites of Guatemala in the morning and hopped on the Panga for the Great Iguana hunt in the afternoon. LC is the Mate on the Release out of Hatteras, NC with Capt Rom Whiticker. I was just along for the ride. BTW - I have a feeling LC would be a great guy to charter fish with. He is extremely entertaining and has more info in him then most. Enjoy - I had a blast with you LC.

Iguana tasted like blue crab meat. Very good and had a good texture. The quackho was tuffer but still a very tasty bird. Maybe should have been cooked a bit longer.

Very cool Bill. I fished with LC on one of his first trips as a full time mate. I'm pretty sure it was with Jersey on the Release in the spring for YFT a couple of years ago. It doesn't take long for the memory to get fuzzy now does it? He was great as a rooky back then, I'm sure he's on top of the game by now!

    Pretty work!

Tim - LC is a very proud and accomplished hunter. He proved his aim to me when he pegged a small iguana from a rocking panga going away at 15 yards as the iguana was also going away. He blasted the critter and it flew 5 ft in the air. I looked at the spotter and said to him, he is a good shot. The spotter said yes but I think he hit him in the belly and ruined some meat. I laughed and asked if he could do better. He shrugged and said yes. I ask if you could do better with the same 22. The boy said he had never shot one with a 22. I asked what he used and he said a SLING SHOT and I would have hit him in the eye

Theses two spotters could spot a green iguana in a green tree from 40 yards. It was damndest thing i had ever seen. LC and I would get out of the panga and stand 30 feet from the little green ******* and still couldn't see them. The kid would climb up the mangrove tree and point right at its tail almost touching it and say shoot him here. WHILE HE WAS 3 FT from the damn animal. LC kindly asked him to get out of the tree
