I had filed a claim with Pay Pal and got my money back. It took a couple weeks, but they put the money back in my account.
Actually it was for a combo rod for JER......my Brazillian Buddy right here on SFC.![]()
It is a shame how people try to cheat others on a regular basis. Good Luck with your claim!!
Hope so, this guy was 100% for 130 feedbacks. You never know.
If you paid with paypal you should be ok just follow their instructions. I had a similar situation and I stuck with it and got all my money back. Ebay is a great place to get good deals, but it only takes one ass to make your life miserable. Only deal with people with good feed back.
Here is a little info. that might help u guys buying on E-bay. Look in the left hand corner of the listing and it will tell you what Pay Pal guarantees. It will say something like Buyers protection to "X" anount of dollars. Don't bid over this amount - you won't be protected.
My wife sells children's art on ebay for a living and has had people file on her. They actually freeze the money in the sellers account until the dispute is rectified. She had money tied up for 5 weeks once. I will say the 99.9% of the time they side with the buyer. She had sold a painting on ebay for 89.00 and the person said she never received the painting. The customer not only wanted the refund for the painting but also for the shipping. My wife tried to work things out with her but she refused and filed. My wife was able to show that the post office had attempted to deliver the painting twice and there was no one home. After the customer was notified of the failed delivery attempts she elected to have it dropped off on her front step, which the post office did. She then claimed she never received the artwork. Ebay froze the amount of the painting along with the shipping costs until they could investigate. My wife lost after 5 weeks of the money being frozen in her Pay-Pal account They took the money out and refunded the customer the cost of the artwork + shipping. I don't think you have anything to worry about. It might take a few weeks but you will get your money back. If you pay through Pay-Pal you are automatically protected up to 200.00 no questions asked.
Have you contacted the seller. Pay pal is real good about helping but they want you to do your best to settle it with the seller first. With a 100% rating I cant see him stuffing some one... Might be a logical explanation. I have done a mountain of trading there. Sometimes I;ll send three packages. Two show right up then the third bounces around the postal system for weeks...
Reels and UPS are a problem though. I have had several problems there... What about tracking numbers?
I didn't receive an item that I purchased on Ebay after three weeks. After trying to contact the seller with no response I filed at the end of the forth week. It turned out that he went on Vacation and did not know and was more that willing to help me. I elected to wait a bit longer due to I really wanted the item. after six weeks I asked for a refund and he gladly gave one. at the end of the seventh week the part came and I promptly notified him. He could not believe that I was honest about the part coming in late. I ( refunded his refund) if that makes sense. Do try to work it out and give the seller the benefit of the doubt. Like Deep c said it's hard to believe that with a 100% rating that he would try to stiff you
I paid for the items asap (7-18-07) within seconds on winning the bid. Three days later I contacted the seller to make sure he got his money. His reply was yes, I will send the goods in a few days. 10 days later he did say he had been on vacation but he had shipped the goods when he returned on 8-1-07. However he didn't have a tracking # because he was at work and info. was at home.
Once I filed a complant he gave Pay Pal a shipping # that was dated 8-9-07. He is for sure a lier. I tried contacting him several times and he would not respond. I think I have given him a fair chance.
Thanks for all the help,
Capt. Rick
