Recently, virtually all GOP politicians, pundits, sycophants and most certainly the Tea Party have displayed remarkable hostility towards any form of tax increases. OK, I believe in smaller and less-wasteful government too.
But this week it's become clear who their masters are when they denied an extension to the payroll tax holiday effectively raising taxes mostly on middle-class Americans. This tax hardly touches the earnings of the rich as it phases out above a certain level of income above which we find virtually all the rich in America.
So, it's become clear that the Republicans are utterly duplicitous on this issue. As long as they prevent their high-roller campaign contributors who number prominently among the filthy rich from having to pay more that's fine. But when they are called upon the lighten the tax burden or ordinary Americans (LIKE YOU AND LIKE ME) they do everything in their power to make sure that burden if deeply felt rather than relieved.
You guys defend with your votes the utterly indefensible, hypocritical and duplicious party of all time. They're solely for the rich. They're opposed to the middle-class where virtually all of you reside. And, yet, you continue to vote for them.
Zummie once said that a conservative member of the middle-class voting for Republicans is like a chicken voting for the Colonel. How true.
