Sportscenter did a piece on this last night. A Golf Weekly representative stood by his cover stating it added intrigue and gained people's attention which is what they were targeting. An African American sports columnist fired back stating that the lynch was no different then putting a gas chamber on the cover if it pertained to jewish people and the stir that would cause. I thought the girls lynching comments were harmless and Woods wasnt offended but that the magazine made something of nothing and blew it out of proportion like the media generally does.
Knowing Kelly from North Myrtle Beach High School, I dont think that she in no way meant what she said. I think that it was just a bad choice of words at the time. I think that she sarcastically was saying that Tiger is so tuff to beat that you would have to physically whip him to outdo his game, hes that good, and she knows it. I dont agree with the slang that was used but would it have been such a big deal if it had been directed toward a white player. Probably not? Unfortunately, comments likes hers just fuel the fire that the Sharptons and the Jacksons continue to fan.
Kelly made a mistake and it was no big deal. The story was all but forgotten until Golfweek decided to do this to sell mags and get some headlines. I guarantee that there wasn't a black guy in the room when the decision for this was being made. It was a horrible idea to get some attention.
The part that is puzzling to me is the stance of Al Sharpton & Jesse Jackson whenever a "racial issue" can be made. The proof is that they only twist NOT TO the benefit of blacks, but the detriment of whites. Need proof? If they cared about eliminating "racial connotations" across the board, would these be on the isles at your local store???

All of this sounds pretty stupid doesn't it? Well if all of us took everything so damn serious, this is what it would be like. I hope that one day people will learn to laugh at themselves and get a life. Racism is gonna be here for a while. As much as that sucks, it's true. We just need to take things at face value and not take so much crap out of context. Maybe when our kids are older it will be better.

Well if all of us took everything so damn serious, this is what it would be like. I hope that one day people will learn to laugh at themselves and get a life. Racism is gonna be here for a while. As much as that sucks, it's true. We just need to take things at face value and not take so much crap out of context. Maybe when our kids are older it will be better.
