Gingers Broken Leg

The first part of the week I was in lovely Manhatten for a few days working, and got the call..........

......Theres something wrong with Gingers leg.



Its broken and its going to be $1000 to fix it. Operation is tomorrow morning, hopefully in 8 weeks my little bird dog will be hunting on all four again.




don't know how it happened and probably won't ever.

my chesapeke bay retriever (Mut) broke her leg when she was 4 months old. She jumped of the front of my boat onto the beach and that was that. So naturally being on the weekend the only vet is the emrgency one.....so there I sit in swimming trunks and a t shirt with my wife next to me, trying to decide what our limit should be on the cost....I am thinking 600-800. Left there paying 1800.00 Dog stayed overnight in the "doggy ICU" and wife cried all night. It is amazing what 1800.00 will buy you.

Hard to put a price tag on it. I can honestly say that if something happened to Max (8 year old yellow lab) I would go to the end of the earth to get him well...beg, borrow or steal if I had to. Hope your pup recovers quickly and completely!

She was operated on yesterday and made it. Thehad to reattach a growth plate in her rear right knee and somekind of ligament thing.

She will be home tonight.
