Getting your TWIC CARD

Boy what a mess it was getting my twic card today, made the appt. by phone yesterday which took 35min got my auth# for
11:15 am,five girls working the office and two on the phones they bring me down the hall and theres 6 guys standing outside the room open the door and 18 guys sitting all around 6 chairs the rest on the floor. You got to be kidding me started talking
to a couple and everyone was pissed, been sitting there since
8:30am and two were turned away yesterday after sitting around
for 5 YES 5 hours yesterday taking off work what the F. they said it didnt matter if you made the appt by phone or web page
and they say walk ins are welcome and would take 15 min.
well I sat there 11:00am till I got call in @ 3:10 and by the time I was done it was 4:22 this is a bunch of goverment BS and will take 5-8 weeks till your card comes in
you got to be kidding me I never saw so many pissed off guys in one place at one time. All I got to say is good luck, Oh your card is good till 2014 then you got to doo this all over again for another 132.50

Dont know how you deal with it...i cant..so i pay people to go to appointments...DMV..F&W..DNR...ect..
Otherwise i may be the guy on the 6:00 news.....

I really don't mean this in a bad way... but just like anything else, should've gone earlier. I got mine back in Nov. as soon as I heard about it and was in and out in 30 minutes as a walk-in with a 2 week period before I got the card. Now that the deadline is coming up the times both ways have tripled. My buddy went the other day and had a similar experience as you. This sucks that we have to have these now, but it would be quicker if it was just boat captains. But it's for everyone almost. My buddy delivers for Pepsi and has to get one because the state port is on his route.

Same deal.....it was painless, went to the one in atlantic beach during Giant season, in and out then 2 weeks go by get the appointment and same deal in and out...couldnt believe it.

Who was it that said "Don't do today what you can put off until tomorrow?" I'm one of the world's worst procrastinators, but for the TWIC, I was an early bird. Like Capt. John, I got mine in November. I pre-registered on the website, and walked in to the Atlantic Beach, NC TWIC office--took 30 minutes. Two weeks later, I went back and in 15 minutes I had my card.

Should have come to Baltimore, lol. I went last Thursday and was in the door and out in 12 min. flat. I was quite suprised, there was absolutely no one waiting at all. I had an appointment but there was no need for it. I was given a time frame of 2-4 weeks.

Mine was the same way. I walked in without a app. and walked out 20 min later, got a call 2 weeks after that and in & out in 5 min.
