This may be the straw that breaks the camel's back so to speak. Recently, a friend pulled me into "the know" on a few things going on under our noses. First off, new drilling exploration will be halted.

The DoD is being kept out of clean up operations in order to "make the spill look worse"

This came from a DoD employee (name undisclosed):

The Department of Defense has assets that could support the clean up, but we are intentionally not being asked to support. Not only are we not being tasked, we are also restricted from commenting on what assets we could support with by the National Command...aka: Make the spill as bad as possible.

Now in the latest from President Obama:

"Earlier today, DHS Secretary Napolitano announced that this incident is of national significance and the Department of Interior has announced that they will be sending SWAT teams to the Gulf to inspect all platforms and rigs. And I have ordered the Secretaries of Interior and Homeland Security as well as Administrator Lisa Jackson of the Environmental Protection Agency to visit the site on Friday to ensure that BP and the entire U.S. government is doing everything possible, not just to respond to this incident, but also to determine its cause."

SWAT teams are essential to determining the cause right?

That did pop into my head after i posted. Is it a strange coincidence that this happens after new offshore drilling is approved? I don't know...

I find it also odd that since I was a kid there have been oil rigs. I guess in my life there may have been a couple oopses but nothing certainly in recent years... These rigs are equipped with shut off valves and back ups if something goes wrong. Funny timing that just when the green light is given to start poking new holes in new places this happens...

Especially after the hurricanes of the last few years have hit those same rigs - with little or no oil spill impact - Something is fishy in denmark...

Well yeah, that's part of it as well.

Also part of how we have to look at what happened. It's bad for the environment. Very sad. In the grand scheme of things its not that bad. How many years drilling and this happens? This isn't exactly something that happens every 3 years. When did the exxon valdez happen? Even better it didn't come about by drilling.

I am not big on the whole "political conspiracy" but it could be any number of things:

Dems trying to make Obama look bad.

Guys, don't believe everything you hear in the news. There were safeguards that didn't work like they were supposed to, but come on.
