Gas Out of control!!! Friday Rant!!!

Two in a row that aren't my usual light hearted ones... I'm not sure whats going on else where the last couple days but the gas thing is spiraling out of control here. I saw for the first time $5 on diesel. Three hours later it was $5.14...
Gas under $4 is rare here now. I've been playing Mr. Mom and Nurse Deep for a couple days with a ton of driving. I saw a station at $3.91 and figured I'd top off the CRV. I slid my card and was waiting for it to authorize. "Kachunk""Whir" "Buzz" she set and I began pumping. "Ching Ching Clank!" Suddenly the price changed to $4.19!!!
I let go on the handle and decided to have a talk with Hockboob behind the counter inside. As I walked in I noticed that it had changed on the lit board out side too... "That is the price as of now... I can't help you." My ass was fried!
This shit is nuts... Well over $5 at the marina... Closer to $6...
TV is all over it. County and even state wide. National news is all over it. $4 is over the breaking point for most of America. A while ago they said that this threw the brakes on Americas travel plans and that this will be the lowest travel Memorial Day weekend since 1979!
For me I have about 6 gallons of the last under $4 gas in town in my tank. I won't be going anywhere. I'm closing in on getting on my bicycle and start hunting down every last gas speculating son of a ***** out there and going Deep on em. Of course that won't really happen but I'm there in Spirit... This shit has to end someplace right now before this country goes full swing depression never mind recession...

Pump stopped at $100.00, 25.8 gallons. Got a little over a half tank.
I aint goin far.

The ones I'm really gonna feel bad for are those on fixed income using oil to heat next winter. Nice choice, eat or heat.

Well the oil companies claim they are only making 6 cents per gallon profit, when they were making 14 cents last year. However they still managed to make over 30 billion in profits in the first quarter. They blame the high cost on the world market price of crude. Here in canada we are paying a dollar more on average then you fella's south of the boarder, so we are feeling the pinch aswell. The bad news is, it will likely go much higher much before we see any decrease. The good news is , there are plenty of nice V8 trucks for sale...CHEAP.

I have been fishing and diving since I was 18 years old.. Im 50 now, and about to give up the great sport of offshore fishing and diving due to fuel cost.. someone is getting damn rich with these out of control prices. and NO ONE IS DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT ... i believe its going to hit 10 bucks a gallon on diesel within a year.. and I have a diesel truck.. how much will that be worth then??? I agree.. maybe a deprerssion is what we need.. then everything will crash and prices will hit rock bottom.. gas might be under a buck then, but no one will have money to worry about gas, much less food!!!.. we as americans are in BIG TROUBLE!!!!!

I did the same thing... I stopped the crime @ $100.00 this morning. It didn't even fill the tank.

This is definately out of controll.

I was grumbling at my good marina guy. Now he takes care of me on Deep C and Mirage but his public price is over the realm of accptable. First I get " Most of the others aroound here are the sam price"... That don't make it right. Then I get the "gota make $1.25-$1.50 a gallon to break even..."
Four or five years ago it was only $1.38 a gallon there... He wasn't making a buck or more a gallon. I try that one on for size..."Oh I gotta make up for the lost volume."
Now we did something a couple months ago. I talked him into pulling his pants down and there was a line to get at it for days... His profits at the lower price soared they pumped a couple extra trucks a day... Then he tossed the price back up and the dock went quiet...
I don't get the greed, panic stuff, the bubble has to pop and those speculators stand to lose it all. Whos instructing them to stay in? We need just one big one to crack and pull out and bank his profits... It will tumble...

att, I really cannot justify 2 fuel eating money pits, I'll be fishing in OCMD wth friends this year, instead of towing my own boat to the beach....I hope something breaks soon but I really doubt anything will happen till after the election then prices may change for the better, so that 1 political party looks like a hero

This is robbery, with the Government standing by saying go ahead... I'm really pissed... this aint right!!!! Time to bring out the guns and shoot the enviromentalist, lobbyist, speculators, politicians and any one else profiting from this mess... This is ridiculous and does nothing but make the US dollar worth nothing.... .. These assholes are bringing this country to its knees!!!!
