Friday Rant... Landscaping crew

When one buys a big house in a gated community rather than one on open road we get home owner association things. Last year I detailed a story about the condo nazi partol and how they were handled. This thread however deals with a weekly iritation... Our landscaping crew.
I'll preface by saying I appreciate their hard work in making the place look top shelf. Then comes the "but". These guys are past noisy. Bordering on noisy enough to outright piss me off. Fridays I try to make oit a practice to get out of here but today I was locked up on a bait rigging marathon that took several hours.
First they come through with a big wide ride on thing. The throaty roar comparatively nice sounding. When however they take about twelve passes over the same spot it gets much. When I'm standing in my garage rigging bait its flat annoying. Next comes that little dude with the edger. I know this son of a ***** does it on purpose to stand right next to me throwing sparks and deafening me as he slices the edge of my driveway. Inevitably he will find a stone to sling off it and with the expert skill of a sniper drive that stone right into my forehead!
Next comes the blower from hell. This ******* definately does it on purpose. He walks up and fires up that boeing on his back and proceeds to start blowing stuff. No direction. Just blowing. Shit flies all over the place. Including into my garage. Undaunted our little Guat friend kicks up the rpm to some ungodly decibel reading, comes and stands next to me, watches me rig three baits before moving on. As if thats not enough the little MF comes back about a half dozen times during the course of the day. Even standing there to get out of the rain for a few minutes a trip today.
Now again I like the job they do but cut it once, trim t once and blow it once should get the job done. I noticed that they began at 11:am and didn't quit til 4m working on just my house and the neighbors. I understand "make wwork" so their supervisors think they're busy but damnit guys don't do it with me standing there and no hearing protection. My ears are ringing painfully right now...

Give the owner a call and let him know. It is supposed to be a service that makes your life easier. It its that bad maybe you should cut your own lawn.

Your Hoa was probably sold that it was a full day for 3 people and the price was based on that.

Its a reg... We get this company period end. No options. I live near the end ofthe street. They get done really about 11:00 with their weeks run and then just make noise and hang around til quitting time...

Seems you guys in Palm Beach have a "pretty picky" group making the rules pertaining to NOISE... this is from a flight manual outlining the "RULES". I would check local ordinance... I bet they are not to exceed a certain level. If it bothers you that bad, look into to it.

1. AIR LINE PILOTS ARE REQUESTED TO USE THE CLOSE-IN NOISE ABATEMENT DEPARTURE PROFILES AS PROVIDED BY THE AIR LINE'S FAA-APPROVED OPERATIONS MANUAL.

2. CORPORATE PILOTS ARE REQUESTED TO USE CLOSE-IN NOISE ABATEMENT PROFILES DEFINED BY THEIR COMPANY, BASED EITHER ON PROCEDURES DEVELOPED BY THE AIRCRAFT MANUFACTURER OR BY THE NATIONAL BUSINESS AIRCRAFT ASSOCIATION.

3. INFORMAL RUNWAY USE - 13/31 FOR GA JET OPERATIONS

4. FOR AIRCRAFT WITH MAXIMUM CERTIFICATED GROSS TAKEOFF WEIGHTS OVER 75,000 POUNDS, THE PROCEDURES MUST COMPLY WITH THE CRITERIA SET FORTH IN FAA ADVISORY CIRCULAR 91-53A.

5. THIS LETTER SHOULD NOT BE CONSTRUED TO AFFECT THE RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY OF THE PILOT IN COMMAND FOR THE SAFE OPERATION OF THE AIRPLANE.

6. STRAIGHT OUT DEPARTURE, INITIALIZE TURN 4-NM AFTER DEPARTURE

7. VISUAL APPROACHES, TURNS FINAL OVER/OUTSIDE THE FINAL APPROACH FIX

Oh yeah theres noise abatement proceedures for the airport but the lawn crew don't habla english. They just love to see me turn purple. I think they think the finger is telling them they are number one... either that or I'm signalling to up the RPM...

Don't get me started on guys with leaf blowers!!! Had one that HAD to blow the leaves all around me while at the corner trying to listen for traffic so I could cross the street not long ago. I was seriously wondering if I could make it home without my cane if I were to shove it up his "blower"!

I hear ya... Kinda muffled with all this ringing... But I hear ya... Don't know why my ears have been so sensitive this season but they sure have been. Today was shear hell...
