    Question FRACTIONAL OWNERSHIP

My experience with deep water game fishing goes no further than two day charters some time ago in Cabo. But I had a grand time. I am a game-fishing rookie dummy. However, I will be retiring soon from California to Ocean City Md, and I have been Internet -surfing marinas, available sport fisherman (35-45 range), etc. The plan may have a foot in the grave because of the fuel situation, of which you are all also concerned.

QUESTION (and maybe a dumb one) : is there a market, or brokerage activity, involved with fractional ownership of sport-fisherman boats (sometimes referred to as time-sharing)? If I can get the right boat (I can drive), I won't be underway 24/7, and the fractional ownership idea will soften the money blow of fuel, costs, etc.(folks use fractional ownership with aircraft, ski lodges, so maybe boats??).

Thx, and please advise. All responses, including brokers, are most welcome.

    Here's a website:

    http://www.yachtshare.com/cgi-bin/di...fractional=yes

    http://www.yachtshare.com/cgi-bin/di...small?bid=5108

63' Ocean Sportfisherman with crew. $80,000 buys 1/10 ownership and one week a year.

Google "fractional ownership boats" and you can find info and locations for other deals.

It doesn't make sense for most of us, but good luck, let us know how it works out.

    billstein,
Not to keen on fractional ownership thing. I think it would be too restrictive. In the interim I would stick to charters.
If a purchase becomes a viable solution I would be more than glad to discuss your options.
