A Spammer brought up an old thread that Lucky Lady did in the inshore forum and I thought this needed to be said also...

Food for thought...

As most of you know, "Catch Shares" are going into effect. They will go to the highest bidder as they are going to be auctioned off...

Groups like W.I.L.D, Pew, P.E.T.A or other could buy the shares and not let them out, then where are we going to be...

That's the same intellect I ran into just before getting out of the commercial fishing biz. Those folk's REALLY do think they know how many fish are in the ocean and that THEY are in control of them. Frank

It makes alot of sense. UNLESS, Your a commercial guy. Which most dont want to admit or realize.

Shut up and listen. If you think they can keep going to sea and harvest at will, you are mistaken. I dont buy king crab at 24 a pound. I wait until its on sale for 12. I really dont care if some guy that smokes 5 packs of camels a day wants to load his boat with them......twice. It may be tooooo much to withstand. I dont care if he thinks he has the right simply because he and his family have been doing it for a hundred years. If its going to last, it needs regulation. Fishing is no different than the National debt......its unsustainable.

Alex, you kinda missed my point here. Not sure if you know this, but as Rec. anglers, WE will need to buy Shares soon to keep a fish we may want to eat. It is in this Doc I posted, they burried it well.

What I want everyone to understand is that this will effect us on the rec side. If the above Orgs were to buy up the shares, they could keep everyone from keeping fish...
