I'd say Key West to Daytona is in for a world of hurt... That 180 mph crap has slowed to 160 still hot cat 5. But the wind field is growin quick now. When she clears Yucatan she'll loose more pinpoint intensity and broaden into a monster...

Deep C hurricane tip of the day:
Simple but often over looked.... Pull the drain plugs on land if you got em. Shore power may fail and bilge pumps can run your batteries into the grave... Gets up in the engine room and you got problems...

We hope that Wilma goes the other way! Florida and the Gulf states have had their share this year! We also are in stand by mode in case Wilma decides to come up the east coast. We hope all our SFC friends see through this safely! My 25 year old lives in Ft Walton Beach on the barrier islands. I have anxiety attacks whenever a hurricane comes into the Gulf! Please take care.....

Well the storm has slowed down. So hopefully everybody has gotten the crap they need. Me and the wife went into K-Mart and all the water was gone! Luckily we were there to buy her some sandals and me socks. But the news channels are just making seem like were all going to DIE! My brother in N.Florida says that the news is reporting the storm is going to cross over Orlando, the stations down here have it crossing over us??? We are over 200 miles apart??
Hey DeepC, do you have generator power? Because who ever gets it, it's gonna be along time before ya get power because of the size of the storm. There are going to be a lot of people affected! Al/MBB |

I did two weeks with out twice last year... Looks like it will be the same. I have a battery powertv, radio, fan and lights so I'll get by... Just so damn hot...
NHC has it going straight over me or a touch north. Like where the two landed last year. You are right though all the local stations are saying direct wherever they are. They may all be right if that wind field gets any bigger. Hurricane force is now 150 across and TS like 300 plus. I think this thing is gonna surprise a lot of people abd be very slow and wide spread... I don't think the intensity and knockem down power will be there but will be one of those duration things that is trouble in its own right. Our first storm last year was a heavy 1 or lite 2 and did more damage that our second storm which was a 3. Thats cause it sat here and worked us for 31 hours! Second one maybe wen 6 hours at hurricane force... Yesterday the panic started. Today I noticed many gas stations gouging and most out of gas... |
