fishing arch ????
ok I am going to make a fishing/radar arch for my little 22 wa,,,I am going to mount on the top of it 2 deck lights, the mount for my "go light", eventually a radar raymarine fixed but the big one, the vhf antena, and the gps antena, 4 rod holders across the top and 1 one each side, I will not be trolling any rods from it. What size pipe would be suffecient? I am going to bolt it straight down into the walkway and not the side. I was thinking about 1" emt (electrical conduit) but not sure if it will be strong enough for all that. I do want to use emt because I can get it easier and weld it easier also. I also want to make sure I can get rocket launchers to bolt on. what do yall' think?

If Ignorance is bliss, Why aren't more people happy?
The radar is going to be the tough one. Before I had a hardtop installed, I had my radar (48" Furuno open array) mounted on a plate in the center of my half tower. The pipe was 1" Aluminum - a grid spaced at about 18" - Over 7 years, the center of the aluminum sagged about 4" in the middle.
If I were building an arch I would probably want 1 3/4 or 2" pipe as the main frames, and a 1/2" plate between the two (assuming you were building a classic radar type arch)
Also given a choice, I would use the Weld on Type rocket Launchers. Anodized Aluminum would be my material choice.
Of course that's just my opinion.

Radar Arch
Fish Tales,
I got what you need, just took mine off to put a t-top on. Heres a picture to give you an idea. Came off a 27 ft Sea Vee. Loved it, but was to short for me and I didnt like having to walk my rods around it to fight a fish from the bow. If youre interested in it, let me know. Its white powder coat with a blue canvas top. Might be some thing you could use.
