Hello Everyone,
My first post and my first fishing/boat forum. I am just about to start my venture into the world of sport fishing. Originally from England but now reside and work in Antigua, West Indies. Been here for 6 years now and i am due to take delivery of my first boat, a Sea Quest 2200 Blue Water. It would be nice to get a few views on this boat. I am a novice, but feel up to the challenge and i do enjoy my fishing. Been out twice (on charters) in the waters off Antigua and both days were very successful with plenty of Wahoo and Tuna, so i am really looking forward to get out into the Caribbean sea again. If i could get an idea of what type of rigs and bait to use (maybe a section to view somewhere?) it would give me some kind of start. I'm looking to catch Wahoo, Tuna and Dolphin (Mahi Mahi) with a few other species thrown in. I have read a number of threads and i am impressed by the knowledge of so many people.
thx
Mitch
Welcome Mitch
I'll come down and show you how to fish if you can give me a job in the sportsbook industry.![]()

Welcome Mitch- I'm no expert on fishing in your part of the world but I'm sure you'll get all the info you'll need on here. Post some pics and some fishing reports when you get going!
Welcome aboard!!
I'm shore you'll have no problem catching plenty of fish, fishing in that location!!
Mitch- welcome to SFC! I was down in Antigua at the beginning of the month. My girlfriend stayed at the new Verandah Resort on the east side of the island near devil's bridge. Beautiful part of the world that you have there. I just finished a video of the trip
too-http://www.sportfishermen.com/board/f74/kind-video-report-you-want-30191.html
We fished on the Obsession out of Falmouth Harbor. We fished the drop southeast of the island, and then worked our way north to the point. We picked up a lot of smaller wahoo and dolphin. The entire spread consisted of skirted ballyhoo, and one small braid swimming plug.
If I were you, I'd spend some time under the video section on how to rig ballyhoo- Wahoonbox has put together enough instructional video, that you will be able to get a pretty good idea of what to do.
Also, site member Sea Stalker is from Antigua, and should be a good resource for you.
Good luck, and let us know how you make out!

Hi Shoefish,
Obsession, and the Capt Derek, were both my trips in Antigua. The first time was a site half way between here and Guadalupe, and the 2nd time was a bit nearer shore as the conditions were a bit rough...it was just a fantastic experiance which got me hooked. A big thx for the info also. I will of course get in touch with Sea Stalker.
thx
Mitch
Welcome to the board and good luck with your new boat
