Went fishing this Sat. and started trolling at about 8 on some small patches of grass. We didn't find anything there but stayed in the area and hooked up on 2 sails at about 8:30. One quickly spit the hook the other got bill wrapped but the hook was set in his bill pretty well. We got him in, in about 15 min. I was excited as i have been fishing offshore for about 7 years and haven't even been on a boat when a billfish was caught on it . So my friend got to reel in his first billfish and i got to leader my first one .
Ill try to post pictures but wouldn't you know i left my camera in the truck. Thank god for camera phones. So i have a picture of my buddy and i holding the fish before releasing him on the boat. And some pictures of my buddy and i in the water at the dock. So ill get them up as soon as i get a hold of them.
Nice sail guys!! Hope you get many more!! How was the bite overall Saturday out of OI?? We passed Saturday but will be heading out the end of the week....Mark
It was good for sails but i didn't see or hear about many whites or blues being caught. My buddy on another boat saw a big bait ball with about for sails working it and got them in the spread but couldn't get any of them to eat.
