After three letters over the past few months I just received this reply a few minutes ago. I hope that the during daylight hours is a typo but I Dobt it. But other than that looks like some progress is being made!!!! Maybe The daylight thing will be debated in our favor..... Lets hope....Mark

Dear Mr. Miller:

Thank you for contacting my office with your concern regarding boat trailer towing. I would also like to thank you for being patient while I completed my research.

When researching your concern, I learned that according to Ms. Johanna Reese, Legislative Liaison for the Department of Motor Vehicles, the Department has been hearing about this issue from a number of legislators and boaters. Ms. Reese stated that the law requires that boats over a certain size must have a permit to travel, and the time frame for travel is limited so they can't travel after dark or on Sundays or holidays. She also indicated that legislation is being drafted to address this issue, and that the Department of Transportation will support a change allowing travel on Sundays and holidays during daylight hours, but otherwise keeping the same permit requirements.

Don't you know that the state of NC is out to tax you out of all the money we can through bullshit laws targeting hard working citizens. If you drive your car to church on Sunday withou your seatbelt on we would rather bust your ass than mess with the crack dealer on the street corner. We also like to target guys towing boats to fish on weekends while axe murderers run amuck. Also you better have insurance and an inspection sticker on your vehicle but you are exempt if Latino. Please send us all of your hard earned tax money so that we can use it for our own special interests.
