I have run both, from a fishing stand point, I will take the bridge boat as I can see better. The thing about the express boats that I have run is the lack of "good" electronics on the tower, as well as the days I could not get in the tower to run the boat. I like to see. An express boat is easer to dock by your self...

Depends on the type of captain you are and what your really looking to do. As mentioned above, a convertible will give you better view from the bridge, better site to the cockpit, looking over instead of back on the cockpit helps you see where you might be backing down a lot easier. Also, helps you site things easier being higher up, but if you the captain like to fish the cockpit or work it, you cant really unless you like running up and down a ladder all day. If your more hands on and like to both run the boat and work the pit, then an express might suit you better. Down sides are your lower and have less height over everything, and your futher forward so seeing the transom is harder. Communication in both instances have their downfalls, an express your yelling further away, on a convertible your yelling up to let the cptain hear ya. If you like to fish with a smaller crew and do it all an express is better suited for you, but if you tend to be behind the wheel more, the convertible is better. As far as amentities, an express is typically deemed a day boat even though you can sleep on them, a convertible has more amenaties to making an overnight trip or spending the night on the boat much easier and more comfortable. If your going to have a captain, convertible hands down, let him run the boat have the best sight view and allow yourself the creature comforts of the salon to lay back and watch tv on the long rides offshore. Personally I am more hands on and do not have a captain, so my nest boat will be an express so I can access the pit easier and still run the boat when needed.
