ever found a rod in the sea?

Have any of you ever found a rod on the beach or hooked one from a pier one I lost a abu 6500 and a star '7 casting rod out of a yak way out 300 to 500 yards out of ocracoke and have seen many rods fly over the rail even a tiagra 130 and custom 130 class rod the dum ass left the rod on full drag with a tuna head in a pvc rod holder on the side of the pier the holder snaped off the site and what do you know what I told him would happen to his $1,700 set up happened. If so what was the reel like was it useable I would think some would some not I have never seen anyone get a rod but I have seen someone get a gun a m9 trainer 22 cal.

Actually caught a 400 pound tuna out on the ledge. When I got him back to the boat, seen he had another hook in, tied him along side, took my line off, and started to pull in the other one, mono hooked to 200, and it started getting heavy, pulled up a nice, spooled, bent butt rod and reel, probably was in the water a week or two, nice addition to the collection. Let the fish go and kept the rod. I love guys that don't tether them......

    Cool Caught a Bonefish Rod!

I used to do a lot of multiple rod fishing for Bonefish on an oceanside pier in Keys.

You would know which rod had a bone attached to it by the screaming real.

I reeled in a bonefish which was tangled in another rod from out in the water.

I yelled look I have snagged some fools rod. The funny thing was, it was one of my other rods which had somehow dissapeared from my spread.

Pretty funny! I was the "fool".

Years ago my uncle dumped a rod over when we were flounder fishing. 3 drifts later my dad caught it with his hook through the top eyelet of the rod.

Just this past year we were tog fishing and my buddy dumped his St. Croix over the side. He says a BIG fish ripped it out of his hands. About ½ hour later my brother catches a tog and has a lines wrapped around his… He pulls the line in and it is my buddies rod. We reel in the BIG 12” tog that was still hooked on the line…
