Well Deep solve this problem for good and seal the engine compartment put a bracket on it and 3 Verados it will never run again and you can join the class action lawsuit once it gets started!I know your dealing with limited space but,it does seem like the battery technology should provide an option for you.
FEELING YOUR PAIN MAN!!
To add to what GlennW said and he is right, always check glow plug electrics. Before you go crazy if you have power to the glow plugs pull out a plug or two. They do go bad and you'll see the ends burned right off them!!!!
Deep, I gather you lost your prime and this is why the ether question? If you need a hand call my office I'm here today 718-576-2131, I can give you advice if nothing else???
Joe Gere
You can save pulling the glowplugs by pulling the wire off and using a test light from the positive post on the battery on the glowplug terminal. If the light lights, the plug is probably good. They rarely short, they usually burn open. If you want to get fancy you can measure resistance. That will be absolutely definitive.
Even one dead glowplug can make those hard to start. Two or three will make it almost impossible.
IE8 says this may be a phishing site....Well, DUH!!!!!!... Stupid jerks can't even spell fishing right.
no i think he means he sucked air into the lines. Thats what he means by "priming marathon". Happens sometimes when changing the primary fuel filters on the motors themselves, racors, or messing with the fuel pump.
He wants to prime the motors with ether to try to create a vacuum and pull the air out of the fuel lines.
Deep - Hate to break it to ya bro, but you are probably going to have to do like you said. Have someone crank the motors while you bleed each injector. I wouldn't try to use Ether.
Thanks for the help boys... I just manned up, borrowed an 8 d and cracked the injectors all by my self. I think I dropped my balls in the intercoastal carrying that big 8 d but she spun that little turd into flowing land and she lit after two full go arounds. Ran them for an hour...
Now heres a funny side note. I had my fish box removed to the starboard to access the hatch. I also set the 8D on that side as it was an easier angle to work with as I had the engine hatch opena dn just ran the wires direct to it. After lighting up. I lit the other siide too just for a good run. To do this I'm also on the starboard side ... We'll my forward bilge light goes on. Usually its my mid ships but this was forward??![]()
I bust out my flash light and see she is indeed running and there had been some water there. I shut her off by flipping the float switch and son of a ***** if half the intercoastal didn't come calling... Back siphon! I've had it once before loading for the bahamas but tis time was because I had her listed over so hard. A few minutes thought had that problem solved by shifting the weight. Damn... Nothings easy.![]()
That 8D pushing 200lbs wore me flat out so I'm taking a breather before going back and getting her all right...![]()
