John, you and I may be on TV. I just watched episode 2 and caught Chumtini heading towards that big blue fountain during the last day weigh-in.
Anyone record the TV show? I don't have a VHS, but I'd love a copy.
Over.

Doesn't it air on Oct 5? Did it air already?
I found this on ESPN's site
ESPN air times for Monster Shark Tournament are 8 p.m. ET Oct. 5 and 7 p.m. ET Oct. 12 and 19.

I taped Vol. 1 last Monday and Vol. 2 last night.
I watched Vol. 1, now I need to watch Vol. 2 tonight.
I prefer to watch them afterwards so i can FF the commercials LOL.![]()
I watched it too- The only thing that gets me is when they continue it- They show several hook ups and then make you wait in suspense til the next show!![]()

Worst show I have ever seen. What a bunch of rednecks. Someone needs to set up a gold chain booth at the weigh in. They would make a killing.

I've been very disappointed with the content this year. I thought last years was pretty good for the most part, but this year seems to be very little about the fishing. I don't know if anyone saw the 1st episode last week, but one of the boats actually gaffed a blue shark and then decided it was too small and released it!!!! Now I'm not so naive to think this kind of thing doesn't ever happen, but ESPN didn't have to air that. And what is the point behind all the shark attack stories and the pictures of the ambulances? I understand ESPN is just trying to drum up viewers, but i think they would do a better job of that if they concentrated on the actual fishing with the veteran fisherman. They are doing nothing to help the image of the shark itself or for our sport. I have sent an email to ESPN expressing my concern as I know of others who have as well. Maybe if we all make our opinions known, next years show will be better.![]()

Mike,
There's also the question of whether that guy that gaffed (mortally, thru the gills) the Blue Shark should have been required to bring it in anyway.....and suffer the penalty if it WAS undersized, since he chose to kill it BEFORE making sure he really wanted to. F-ING moron he was![]()
Then the guy bragging about being able to jump someone's slick due to the pea soup fog.
I taped last night's and need to see it....they should be showing the REAL pros out there, not these morons that shark once or twice a year just because they have the $$$ to enter these things. There are plenty of pros out there......that guy with the straw hat in Episode #1 (Capt. Bill knows him I think) seems to be a "good guy" and knows his shit.![]()
Eric,
You're right, they were a lot of other issues I had with it, but I didn't want to stay on my soap box for too long. Like I said before, ESPN puts out what it thinks people want to see. If we all right to them and tell them what we want, maybe next year will be different. And if it isn't, I would recommend to the tournament powers that be to not allow ESPN back in next year. I know that's not very easy because I'm sure they pay well for the rights.
Anyway, next week should be interesting with the footage of that Tiger Shark that was brought in.

I taped 'em all John....still have to watch episode 2 & 3, but have all 3 taped.Originally Posted by Admin
