Ernesto v Cape May
Depression? There hasn't been a depression this bad since the 20's.
Just a mile inland we've got a fair number of trees down and winds in the 35-45kt range. Nasty, but the real chaos is at the harbor. I spent a good bit of the day at the marina where the wind comes straight across the harbor to the Sterling II and it felt every bit of 55+. Our high tide today was a couple feet above normal which left seawall protection at the marina's minimal at best. There's a steep 2-4 wave throughout the harbor that is knocking quite a few things loose.
A sailboat broke loose in the harbor and is now tied with one line at the south end. Far more ominous... a 60' class commercial fishing vessel, that's been basically abandoned in the harbor, broke loose. At last check she was slamming against the private marina at the South end of the harbor. Boats in that marina were facing 3-4 foot waves, in their slips.
Hopefully the worst of it is over...and the canvas, along with everything else, survives.

I didn't see any boats loose at UTSCH's. A couple boats broke lines but still had enough to stay in place. A few boats were running into canvas issues but less than I would have guessed. Other than that it just looked like a lot of bumping around. A good bit of saltwater, seagrass and debree in the air. Also saw Utsch's crew walking the docks keeping an eye out.

Anthony's Ark is a blowboater
Here are some shots from a ride from Strathmere to Somers point this afternoon. Check out the sailboat that washed ashore at Rainbow channel on the 9th street causeway.
