This is such BS..... wonder how much money is in the stimulus package for tort reform...oh yea...the same exact amount that's in it for new nuclear power plants....0...Ze-RO...NADA....but guess what....solar, wind and even clean coal technology is getting funding from the stimulus bill.

There are 32 nuclear power plants on the drawing board in the U.S.....RIGHT NOW!..TODAY!...talk about shovel ready projects!

For one....just one....nuclear power plant....there would be 4,000-5000 construction jobs for 5-6 years....after the plant is constructed....there would be ~750 permanent jobs at the plant....each plant spends about $400M annually on operations and maintenance (O$M) costs.....and on top of that....guess what....the local economy of any plant location would be flooded....yes flooded...with tax dollars. Go to any community that has a nuclear power pant on the tax base and research how much...or should I say ...how little...the property tax is for residents....you would be astounded!

If this administration REALLY wanted to fund a technology that would create good paying, long term jobs, stimulate the economy, ensure energy independence AND HAS A ZERO CARBON FOOTPRINT....nuclear power has it all!

You know you're preaching to the Choir bud--- America's resistance to nuclear energy since 3MI has been a peev of mine for years. The greatest energy discovery of man kind has sat in limbo for the last 22 years in the U.S. and cost our economy untold billions is excess electricity costs---- Safety is paramount, but as you know, the library of regulations, red tape, etc. is absurd. Anyway, I'm getting off topic.
