    DVD FOOTAGE HELP

I have a DVD shot by wahoonbox of some funny Redfishing scenes. I would like to edit the video to make a film for SFC. It will be my first. I need elementary school instructions. Any help would speed up the film for SFC. HOLWACHAGOT

HEY BOX, Remember The Beast trying to get that mullet chunk of UNCLEBULL's fishing line? Funny stuff. Help me out on the editing. Do I need to buy a software program to cut clips from the DVD and splice them together for a short movie?

A couple of things may help to get you the answers you're looking for. Do you have a mac or pc? Will your computer read dvds? Does it have a dvd burner? The answers to these may start to give you a direction to move in. By the way, shouldn't you be at the hospital? LOL

The bags are packed! That is why I am not fishing this evening. Gonna give a go at movie making while I am stranded on land.
I have a Dell computer that does have a DVD burner. I have windows XP and the Media Center that comes with it. I am a computer IDIOT. CLUELESS I TELL YA! So any and all help wil be appreciated. As soon as I get home I can answer more questions about my computer.

    Thanks Shoefish

Sounds like a good project while you wait. I'm sure that other people will weigh in on this subject, but I can tell you what I think could work well for you. The software that was used for all of our movies was called Pinnacle. If you go to their website, you can download it for $50 and it will do just about anything you want it to (www.pinnaclesys.com). If you think that this is the only editing you're going to do, I think that you can download a trial of the software for free for 30 days, though I think that the free version may not have all the bells and whistles as the one you purchase. After you load it up, it's fairly self explanatory, just click, drag and drop the sections that you want, and put transitions between them. If you are fairly limited in your computer skills, then Pinnacle would probably be a good choice as they have quite a few tutorials that walk you through all the steps. Hope this helps, if I haven't been clear about something hit me back, and again good luck tonight!
