    Duck Boat

--- My Grandfather was an avid sportsman who hunted, trapped, and fished most of his 70 year life. He died in February, 2009 of colon cancer. Though we miss him, we still have all the memories he left with us, the knowledge we gained, and, not to mention, his rooms full of guns, clothes, mounts, fishing rods, lures, and shells. He also had a 1989 14' Lowe jon boat that he left to my uncle. For the past 6 months my uncle has been working on transforming that jon boat into a duck hunting boat. This morning we added the final touches to the blind he built, we added the windblocker material along with the outer camoflauge netting. So tell me what you think and if you have any ideas or something you think we missed, thanks.

Looks great and ought to work. One thing I have learned over the years is camo coming off the boat works better if it touches the water around the boat...

That outta hide ya pretty good. I'll sencond what Lee mentioned. Here's three suggestions if you want to fool with it:
#1 Get some burlab (or you can buy the high dollar nylon stuff). By the looks of things you'll need 2 strips about 12' long (or thereabouts). Zip tie (use a bunch) to the camo netting. For the bottom, get two 10' sections of 1 1/2 heavy PVC pipe. Drill holes several places in the pipe. and zip tie the pipe to the bottom of the burlap. This will fill up with water and really help on a windy day and makes it a breeze to roll the whole mess up when you're done for the day.
#2 consider installing two small eye bolts one on the front of the boat and the other to the top (back) of your motor cowling. You can then just bungee the netting to cover the bow and motor which will also help somewhat with the blockyness of the profile.

#3 unless you'll be hunting in a very dark swamp, the netting you have is a tad on the dark side. Go to Wallyworld and get a can of the light brown camo spray paint. Hit the camo here and there to lighten it up just a little (not too much, just knock the darkeness off a tad).

Where you gonna hunt the floater?
