Drag scale VS Fish Scale

Is there any benefit to buying a drag scale over a regular fish scale to set reel drag?

we use a 50lb fish scale to set our drags - ranges from 16lbs up. so far, so good. friends in FL use the same. i've never used a drag scale.

Thanks. It may have seemed like a silly question, but i couldnt figure out why drag scales tend to cost more. I thought there might be a good reason.

I use a 50 lb fishing scale as well. I guess a drag scale might be more accurate but I figure if you're within a pound that should be good enough.

Not too many fresh water fish require 40 Lbs of drag

Distilled water has a specific gravity of 1.00 while common seawater has a specific gravity of approx 1.03 - Most likely you will be close enough for government work whichever you choose.

Do it on the boat, bent butts in the holder.
It might not be right but they are all the same.
Close enough for the girls I go out with

Remember to heat up your drag by stripping off line before you set your drag or it wont be the same when it heats up and expands while you are fighting a fish.
