I have not had much experience with the 453, but i would think being naturally aspirated it will live forever and go at its own pace all day and night long (maybe leaving a little oil for you to remember it is there)

Jawz what are your plans for that rig?

    ol' 4-53...a whopping 140hp it's gonna wail !!

gonna fish this rig,and fish it hard...
goin' inside the shop for some cosmetics-looking a little rough right now...gotta build a "wave wall" on the port side too...

"lobstah" boats are becoming more and more popular down here, funny, just last week i was looking at a job at a local marina,i seen about 10 lobster boats.kinda makes sense for these, cheap to run with that single diesel, lots of 'pit room, and the fact they're real sea worthy-again,all kinda makes sense...

this thing kicks ass...wagner hydraulic steering system-engine driven...14" hydraslave hauler, engine driven hydraulics for this too...engine driven sea water pump-like a friggin' fire hose gonna take a little time to get used to the speed-10-12kts...who cares-it's got that dry stack exhaust singin' that 2 stroke detriot tune !!

When she is all spiffed up be sure to post the pics- I know what you mean about them becoming more popular all over. Fuel efficient, comfortable and a bunch of fishing space- tough to beat.

The way I see it, leave a little earlier, fish a little later and get used to navigating in the dark like we all used to do.

    Good luck with her.
