#2. Many of the supposed "imports" are actually put together in the US. Now, a lot of that money does go to the overseas corporations, but they do provide a lot of jobs here in the US. For instance, BMW and Toyota both have assembly plants here in Upstate SC.

Many so-called "American" cars are actually put together in foreign countries, and even if they are assembled here they are using parts made in foreign countries so they aren't any different than "Imports" which have a similar operation except the bigwigs live in the US instead of a foreign country.
