now i know, i'm going to catch a lot of flack for this thread.......... but $200,000 dollars?this is whats wrong with this country! im not trying to pee on any parade, im all for family values but,.........give me a break. i was born in 1956. we lived in a 3 br, 1 bath house. in the summer my mom used to change the position of the beds in my room which i shared with my brother. i thought we moved. we were not rich, but we had everything. i never remember my parents spending a cent to entertain us. i had three sisters, they lived a different life than my brother and i did. we got up every morning in the summer, needing no direction for the day. i flipped my bike over every day, broken or not. we stayed in the woods, caught fish, swimming, always running home to the sound of either my father or mother at dinner time. sweaty and hot i went to bed eager for tomorrow. thats the value we have lost. i never needed $200,000 to have fun. no kid does. this is the result of dumb parents. they think they can fix everything with a uniform and money. put that boy in little league, and the parent argues on the mound. grow up. i fought my on safe and outs. some i lost. some i won. same with my brother. my parents did everything for the five children, and we had it all but i think this is stupid. children dont need $200,000 dollars, they dont even get it. today i live in a home my father never dreamed of. i built my home. before my dad died this january he told me how proud he was. i drove back to the house we grew up in, i couldnt stop crying................it was a long jump my dad made possible. he put me in front of him every chance he got. so did my mom. my brother and i , laying in bed all sweaty from the day didnt think we needed money. we needed another day. we as parents have lost perspective of that value, put a price on everything, buy a uniform for it, and call it an effort. in my opinion, this sort of thing might make you feel good, it does nothing for children growing up. they learn nothing, except.....ice cream over here. great. not my kind of charity, not my kind of effort. waste of time. not how i would raise my kids. not a dick, just my honest opinion. but when i run for the US senate it wont be on this type of free for all platform. this is the most liberal of all thinking i have ever heard. i miss the old days. money is not a substitute for them. sorry, but if i dont say it........who will? rip me apart. respectively, i disagree.
