Does anyone else hate Facebook

I get a lot of charter guys that tell me to get their reports off of facebook. I go there, get a partial report, then need to follow a link to a website and FB stops me and asks me if I want to leave and then after answering I can get to a website to get the info I need- same with twitter- get 1/2 a sentence and have to follow a link- Half the time the link goes back to FB and you start all over again. Most of their RSS is internal and you have to go to your FB page to see it, instead of your browser.

I end up getting very little good info from FB

My own home page gets cluttered with all kind of extraneous crap. I rarely read it anymore. I really don't care who got 2 cows on their farm. Really I don't need a heart that I have to respond to.

never had that issue. I get alot of reports from fb. But still get much more fishing info here. I have noticed that some fisherman that use to report here stopped and only report on fb. That kinda sucks.

Its easy to disbable the cow stuff and the mafia stuff. I learned how to do it and it cleaned up my home page quite a bit

i agree....but...to the right of each wall post there is a "HIDE" option......which will allow all the Farmville's and Beating Hearts to disappear.....try it....gets rid of all the BS posts

I can't remember how I did it but you can hide just the apps you want hidden. I use to get the farmville and mafia bs. but I went to those site and asked to hide and did. no more BS stuff

yeah.....tis amazing what i can do with a puter after a night out on the town......nuthin like moving the cursor and hitting buttons......

matter of fact......once i made hotel reservations on-line for only 34 days...NOT 3 to 4 days......yup....nuthin like hitting buttons....

I only started doing FB because I had some policyholders who only want to communicate thru it. Like Bill said there are a few members who used to post here that mostly post on FB now. As far as fishing reports I get all mine here. I am glad someone turned me onto the hide button because I was getting sick of seeing cow requests,or rescued turtles,or islands,or mafia,or some podunk town.

I'm a FB'r too. A reluctant one. Had to do it because a few of my friends and business associates asked me to. I have the same issues with way too many jibble-jabbling yo-yo's posting all kinds of silly crap that I don't have the remotest interest in knowing that some of you do.

I'll try the tips given here to get rid of the jabber jawers. Thanks for that.

As for fishermen leaving here and only posting on FB? Wow! That kinda blows my mind. Here, you aren't wasting time giving out info to people who could care less about it, thus creating the opposite of what some of us don't like, fishing info that many non fishers don't want to bother with. At least here, you're listening to and communicating with other fishermen. I like that a helluva lot better than FB, with or without the jibble-jabblers.

(If you do like FB, but want to limit yourself to fishing stuff, look us up, we're on there - our young guys insist on that and I suppose that they're right. But you won't find out what color socks any of us are wearing, or who we're dating, or any of that crap in our section.)
