    dock boxes

time to put the dock box at the marina. however, new docks were put in and I don't think the dockmaster will like the idea of drilling holes into his pretty new docks! how else can i secure my dockbox to the dock to prevent it from falling over and god forbid "walking away"??? i always drilled them to the docks, but i might not b able to do that here. any other ways of doing it?

What kind of decking did the use? You may be able to run the bolts between the slats in the decking and bolt it down that way. Otherwise ask the Dock Master.

never heard of a dockmaster not allowing a box to be secured..but, if the ends of the boards are secured to the frame with screws.. and depending on the width of the decking material..figure a 5' box will need at least 4 good attachment points...back out the screws..attach a couple of treated 2x4's and use the same holes the attachment screws used..then screw the box to the 2x4's...bingo..attached without drilling into new deck...if the frame is aluminum use self tapping S.S., just longer than the original.
