Do you use Facebook to find product info?

We're having a discusion here in the office and the basic question is: Do any of you use Facebook or Twitter on a regular basis? Would you use it as a way to find info on a product?
I personally would do a Google search or check in with a forum such as SFC, but what say you?

I don't think so..... seems that whenever I have facebook open my computer slows down quite a bit....

I use google for all non fishing related items.....

SFC is where I get most of my info for fishing.

I don't twitter, I google. I recently joined facebook but only use it for social networking, ie, spying on my friends, being nosey. I don't see facebook as a useful search engine.

So far I haven't figured out a way to utilize facebook as a weapon of mass destruction against Caterpillar. I'm resourceful, give me some time and I'll come up with a plan.

    Alright... here's two cents:

As a FB user, would I use it to search for a product? hhhuuummm, I have not thought about it, but what the heck, why not? Out of habit, my first pick is Google for info and selling range. From there, it would be to those who support the electronic "hood" we call home (sponsors of a site I use ). Now, let me ask.. what does FB cost to create a "group" or whatever they call it??? Answer: NADA. So, if 1 person were to come across your "group" due to a search or seeing that someone else was part of that group and it resulted in a sale, then I would say it was money well spent. My suggestion would be create the group, give some samples to the first 50 in the group (or whatever number you pick) and see if it grows. I know I use the type products you produce as most of us on here do... a sample gives us the jumpstart to get hooked like a crackhead... and the experience to answer questions when asked by all the others who wonder "What's StarBrite?" Keep in mind the future power of sites that gather data on the consuming public. The value of the net is in the data collected and we have only scratched the surface of this monster. I say go for it!
