I have the world phone and it is supposed to work anywhere. I think you might have to get a sim card for there to get cheaper rates on calls.

I've got a blackberry through verizon the cell works in Nassau and some of the bigger islands, but was never able to get emails??? A friend on mine has a blackberry with ATT and everything worked???

I believe it has to do with your particular carriers deal with BATELCO.
