    thats an awesome picture sterling. Here are three versions of the same picture. As you can see the grainieness intensifies as I cropped it in closer and closer. It doesn't not make a huge difference on the screen but on paper it is very noticeable. The D80 will hold true a little better because of the increase in megapixals. This was taken on the Run Off with the D50 18-55 lense. Photo edited on Microsoft photo editor

    If you're not a pro or very serious amature, look at the canon Rebel. I think the new one had the * megapixel sensor and can use all canon lenses. Pretty good bang for the buck.
