I'd have read the rest of the thread before posting as it seems Glenn got it all worked out and, as usual, had more knowledge of these things than I do.

By the way, Bonehead, Mahr in the video wasn't taking credit for anything, and, certainly not for the tax reductions. He said that taxes were lower now than at any time in the last 50 years and that Republicans simply cannot let that FACT sink in because they're so, well, BONEHEADED about facts that don't suit them.

That was the entire point of the skit he and Olbermann put on. You guys just don't listen to reason anymore and facts that contradict the beliefs FOX instills in your BONEHEAD are inconvenient and, therefore, ignored.

Anyway, payroll taxes didn't increase. They decreased. You just thought they increased because you were viewing them in a comparative sense. So, when one went down you confused that with the other going up.

Simple enough mistake I guess.

It's probably a New York thing. If I see a change in the tax structure I just assume I'm getting screwed because that's what usually happens. Especially here.
