Did Ted Nugent Go Too Far?
Ted Nugent, the outspoken hunter with a sharp and creative tongue for all things that reside stage left, was at it again this past weekend at the 2012 NRA Show in St. Louis, MO. The Motor City Madman, while being interviewed by NRA News, went on a rant that included graphic political analogies that sparked a mainstream media firestorm.
His comment, “If Barack Obama becomes the president in November, again, I will be either be dead or in jail by this time next year,” earned him a special visit from the Secret Service yesterday to discuss exactly what he meant by that statement and some of his other more colorful word choices.
Did he go to far? Or not far enough?

NYBH,
I seem to remember when I signed the "dotted line" afew year's back, that there was a mention of
defending and up-holding the Constitution of The United States. The seat warmer's WE have up there now, have done a piss poor job of doing what they expected us to do. Wouldn't take much of a "people's revolution" to put thing's back in order. Of course it'll never happen by putting your local lawyer to work, may take abit more skin in the game than that. Problem as I see it, is that I don't know if WE've got what it take's anymore. Frank
Yes. Words matter.
Nutgent not only implied that he'd die or be incarcerated at some point in the future, but also, exhorted others to lop off the heads of those who support Obama (I don't support the orificice, by the way).
Nugent hiself, is not the problem. He demonstrated how quickly he'd climb down after being told the SS (deliberate insinuation most of you Republicans won't understand) would visit him. He's a perfect example of a Republican loudmouth coward.
It's the silent nuts like that Norwegian guy who bravely and courageously slaughtered unarmed children at a day camp and who are inspired by Nutgent that should concern us.

Since Martin Sheen and Sean Penn didn't renounce their citizenship when Bush got re-elected, I think this is just Ted acting out and letting his mouth get ahead of himself.

Like It Or Not,
It's gonna be the one's that aren't afraid to get this train back on the track. Just gonna boil down to which side of the "track's" you're on. Nugent said NOTHING that most of us, aren't thinking. Does that make me a wacko too? Frank
That statement doesn't make you a wacko Frank - But all the other stuff...

Don't worry Frank - it will take more that that to get you on my list.

No Ted did not take it to far, just said it in a way that will stop and make people think. He never said it as a threat, just how you want it to be. "Chop their heads off" to me means vote their butts out of office, "Dead or be in jail" means that Ted will die trying to get him out of office or go to jail trying to get him out. I sure don't see why all this fuss, really listen to how he says it.
