    Finesse - some of teh better photo editing programs may be able to do what you want. You can convert photos to a sketche or painting looking output. The lines will not be as crisp as what you see on a boat design/layout drawing because the transitions will not be very crisp in a photo. If you want true line drawings, you need to draw it. Most CAD software is now too complex for your average joe to afford and learn to mess around with but a simple freeware package just may be teh ticket for easy 2-D drawings
