Please let there be someone that doesn't listen to the media, let me know what's on your mind and let it stand for what it is. This "both side's of the fence" ain't gettin' it. I will say that I was disappointed by Ross Perot's bowing out, but I will alway's remember and respect his position. When he publicly said that he would not appoint a "gay" person to his Cabinet. Now whether I agree or not, he put his character on the line, like it or not. I personally respect that!!!!

It shouldn't be about "winning". It should be about the people that elected you!!! Would someone that doesn't mind swimming upstream, PLEASE show yourself and stick with it!!!!! Stand on what you say and what you mean!!!! The politician's are leading us over the cliff , we need an HONEST Leader. As a Leader, you will never please ALL the People. But I don't agree that those elected are bound solely to represent the views of the people who elected them. Most elections are hotly contested. So, most districts and states contain people all across the spectrum of political, familial, social and religious view.

Shouldn't the duty of those elected be to do the right thing for the amalgam of people that are represented? But that's hard, right? There's so many competing views, right? And, some views don't merely compete, but rather, they conflict directly.

Well, believe it or not there's an easy answer to that. Obey the Constitution.

No, no, no. I don't mean obey the Constitution when the particular part of the Constitution you like suites your views. I mean do it all the time whether or not you or your "constituents" agree with all if it. It's simply not optional to obey the Constitution.

Let's take an example. Pee-power cites gay rights. Well, the Constitution does'nt directly address homosexuality now does it, and, the Bible and some other religious texts do, right? Nope, wrong.

If one is to truly represent the pluralistic makeup of the district of state that elects you then you must accept that the Constitution does address gay rights. It addresses it through the equal protections clause. And, that clause applies to everyone equally in the district or state that contains your constituents.

Pretty simple, huh? The Constitution is sincerely a marvelous documents that should guide our representatives. Regrettably, irrelevant religious texts, creeds, ideologies, etc. too often do.

My point wasn't the descion he made, the point was that he didn't "hide" behind his potentially un-popular descion. He stated his position and stuck with it, sound's pretty un-political to me. Yes your school-boy name calling is quite brilliant too.

Last I heard she hasn't even said that she "was" in. Pretty much, I'll get back to ya on that one. I don't knock your choice, but I don't get her. I see her as nothing more than a cheer leader so far, maybe that'll change. You wishin' for snow yet??????? Frank

You don't wish for snow up here, it's coming, I'm wishing for a couple more months of Summer, the curtain pretty well starts coming down on Labor Day up here...in a couple weeks...I just finished stacking 6 cords of firewood if that means anything.........
