We usually reserve those auctions and stuff for charities and fund raisers. We have a base temp service up right now. Its not a cost of putting it up thing that has the other one down its the monthly maintainence fees. Like a taxi cab with the meter stuck on... It keeps on ticking whether or not some one is there to pay the fare. When there isn't then John has to barf up the difference...

We tried a more enhanced program but we had nobody willing to cough up any advertising to help pay for it...

Have you given thought to having a voluntary paid membership. I belong to a couple car forums, one has a silver$10, gold$25, or platinum$50 membership. Another has a flat 2 year membership of $35. You can still post if you are a non-paying guy but one closes the classifieds to non-paying people, and the other allows only members to post in off topic. Maybe something along these lines. I for one would pay something for the upkeep of the site. This is the absolute best fishing site there is. I know that it can get expensive keeping a popular site going, and as this grows, the cost to maintain it will increase dramatically.

Its not my site to make those calls... There was discussion about making the temp service a premium service but I think that idea was shelved for one reason or another...
