Here's a couple more things from the video.
`Cooler in front of the chair.
`Blue bucket at the transome. If your going to put the teaser in it great but move it to the front of the boat. Both are serious hazards to the person wiring the fish.
`Deepy is on the wrong side of the mate leadering the fish. Mate should move up the side of the pit and Deepy should be in the corner with the gaff. (their way is how you lose fish on under the boat, not to mention scratching the transome.)
- guy in video says "wasn't there somethng else in the middle aka another fish, further proving my point abouit watching the spread.
- Deepy isn't in the tower but rather at the helm of the express. Not a good place to view the baits. If I were 5 feet tall I would want to be as high up as I possible could.
-Foot rest on the chair and bucket harness aren't positoined correctly for the angler. all stuff that should have been taken care of before you started fishing.
- not turning the boat after the strike not to mention that they probably didn't go back over the spot.
I've got more if that isn't enough. My point here is people read this site and think that Deepy is what you should do or be when it comes to sportfishing. If your going to talk the talk then you should at least try to crawl first.
nice video deep!!
BLOW EM ALL!! lol
Next time stick him int he ass with a giant 10" flying gaff and hang it to bleed out all over the deck! haha

hey teddyp , you are aif you want to back up how good you are , show us some photos of YOUR catches . it is easy to look at someone else and find all their faults . you must have done these same "faults" numerous times to come to the realization that something is wrong . end of the day = fish caught , nothing more is needed .
Chair on helm elevated... Pulling twelve pieces of plastic... It is the correct place to be...
On correct side of mate to swap off leader and let him poke if we need or correct position to put away if we don't need (Which we didn't need it). Watch the shark vid. There I leader, mate on left shoulder to poke.
Borrowed chair adjusted to boss... Since we knew this wasn't zilla we let John crank in his first billfish...
Boat behind us also hooked up if you listen... Pulling fish away from him... No need to turn when fish is clear of spread and not dumping reel... When you grow up and actually captain boats for 30 years you kinda get a feel for what works. (Again again not our target fish and 80w gear seems to win arguements over bitty whites every time).
Buckets and cooler at the back... Works for us and has never been an issue in those same 30 years... Easy to move if we need to...
Better go and watch the vid of the first fish again. Sun hasn't changed positions. Go back across the spot? We plucked the two fish about six or seven minutes apart...
We do things our way. Not your way or somebody elses... Thousands of times over it has worked... If it ain't broke don't fix it. If you don't like it don't read it...![]()
Fortunately things have changed over the 30 years you have been doing it. Throwing a bunch of plastic over the side is one way of doing it but doing things that are dangerous and wrong isn't. Its cool Deepy I'm not mad at ya just thought there should be the other side of the story if you know what I mean. I did watch the video again of the second white which you said you caught on a Masher. Where did it go? Did Mr. Whitey eat it because I didn't see it at the end of the video. Next time you PM someone make sure you know what you're getting yourself into. Don't bring a knife to a gun fight.
still waiting on your pictures and or video so we can critique them/it.....![]()
Well if you cant see a fifteen inch piece of purple plastic that slides up to the crimp on the run or the 12/0 Jobu with electrical tape riding up from it being removed in a blink of an eye you are in no position to talk about seeing shit.
There is no danger in there at all when you do it as long as we have... Its more dangerous unhookin gogs from sabiki rigs...
One more time, we don't white fish up north... I don't knock those that pull the dredges and meat. I make that an option to our crews but they prefer going hero or zero... At Chub we run a mixed spread because of the diversity of the fish species there but up north for the last several years we have pulled looking for blues... Not the only way, maybe not the best way, our way and we still knock off a place often enough to stick with it...
