Good morning Members.
With the looming restrictions imposed upon fishermen from my state and yours. I would like your opinion why NMFS is needed. A video clip will be linked below to open your eyes and help the new fishermen understand what is going on. The old saying is. Out of sight ...out of mind. I do not know everything there is to know in rebuilding the Atlantic stocks, but I do know if you take your change from one pocket is does not show up in the other like magic. Listen to the video. Listen how NMFS will move the netters from one zone to another. Is NMFS making sound scientific statements. This group holds them selves higher than you or me, in decision making concerning our fishery. I enjoy fishing. And so do you or you would not be here reading this post. The video is of a different fishing zone than I fish in, but we have a very similar problem near me and I am sure near you also. I hear and read fluke, flounder, flatties what ever you call them in the 2007 season will not be allowed in your cooler. Ask yourself why? Did you really keep under sized fish or did someone with a big wrong decision give your fish away? I am by no means a tree hugger. I am a realest and straight shooter. Yes I look beyond today because I want something to fish for in later years. I do my part and revive fish Stay with in the limits and also watch this group make fools of us all with the out of sight , out of mind decisioning making. The tuna fishery is historic in the North East as it is now becoming in MHC North Carolina. Ask a brother fishermen from the North East, what has happened to the greatest Giant Bluefin bite. Listen to the captains in your area when the bite is located in a 1/32 mile spot. Why 1/32 ?
I guess some bait was not scooped up and you are lucky that season.
