Thumbs up Customer Service... THE Difference

Had a small problem with an isnatnt hot water heater aboard the 43... I had busted the handle off it. Well that part isn't readily available in most places. On the unit itself was a telephone number and model number. Mind you this is a 1996 water heater and I doubted the number would even work. I decided to give it a go though.
I was surprised that a person actually answered the phone. More surprised whe he appologized for the inconvenience. Way way surprised when he said he would send two new handles free of charge.

    Got me thinking...

Went on the boat to continue getting her settled back into fishing mode and found our electrical guys bill tucked in by the depth finder. This guy did a ton of work on the boat. He installed two UV air cleaning units. Replaced a bad transducer with an upgraded one and sent the depth finder out to have its temp sensor fixed. Opened the bill. Charged for the installation of the air cleaners. N/C next to all the transducer work and even the unit repair.
Ok the transducer swap I could see. But an upgrade? Then the repair to a three or four year old unit for free? That folks is service! He had done the installations also on his own nickle cause he did the original intallation of the one transducer.
That same thought from this morning carried right on through... Let me say right up front. That is a sure way to be invited back again and again and EARN my business. No I don't want or expect people to work for free but it goes a long way in showing me that they care... Furuno, Insinkerator and Blue Marlin Marine Electronics , I thank you and you will continue to earn not only my business but consumate respect too...

You're right, they just don't break, just put a timing belt in my 2000 Accord...167,000 miles, the first thing I've done, the guy said it was like new and likely would have lasted another 100,000....

I still have the CRV sitting here for sale but really don't want to sell it. Civics are in the garage but I'm out of room. Trying to figure a way to keep it. Considered leaving at the marina but thats just a short term fix.
If we don't take the boat up north this year (Highly unlikely) I would consider bringing it up there and use as my Jersey car instead of running back and forth with the van.

After I hit the Powerball and buy my new boat, I'll keep it on the bow for you...

I just know that if I do sell it, five minutes later I'll figure out a way to keep it and I won't be able to replace for what I intend to sell it for...

You're right, they're getting pricey, and the mpg are going down as the cars are creeping a little bigger each year. My 92 Accord got 33 mpg, the 2000 gets 28, and I hear the new ones are around 25....which is better than my Dodge Ram truck at 14.7.
