I just heard on talk radio (which hardly happens, cause I don't listen to the radio next to never). They reported that T Gietner said that taxes on small bisiness NEEDS to be raised to keep up with the current spending by the Gov't. Here's a novel idea, how about cutting the rate of spending by the Gov't. We currently have more money flowing into the Gov't by tax payers than ever before, the problem as I see it is THEY are spending more than ever before.
Please tell me what the incentive the small "Mom & Pop" businesses are going to have to keep plugging away? I know we focus on BIG business, but where I went to school, we little guy's provide more jobs and pay more taxes than they do. And WE don't get bailout's, just more heaped on us. Speaking just for myself (and EVERY other small business owner I have talked to in the last couple of years), all we are doing (at best) is just staying afloat. We handle money, but none of it sticks anymore. It costs the majority just to meet the expense load. Has anyone else noticed how everything from fuel, shipping, parts, utility's, insurance, uniforms,labor and yes taxes in ALL forms have been going up. Look, I have a small but loyal market here where I live. I have worked extremely hard to keep those customers satisfied, not just in the quality of work (I am in 100% control of that), but I have kept my billable rate at a level they can afford. To do differently would to sqarely shoot myself in the foot. If you're not careful, you can price yourself out of any business.
What is going on cannot float for long. Once many of these (what used to be profitable businesses) go out of business, they simply will not have the capital to start back up again. Try going to the bank and getting "start-up" money now. Unless you have a crap load of colateral (most of which will be gone with the business) you're out of luck. I know people that have that type of colateral and the banks still won't talk with them about a new venture. We will NEVER EVER get back on our feet, if THEY don't quit kicking them out from under us. Call this a rant if you like, but I see this as nothing more than plain old common sense. Frank

How can the govt possibly lower spending - They have all of the illegals to pay food stamps, education, and healthcare for... They also have to pay pensions, healthcare, assorted benefits for every one of them that has been elected to congress since the mid 50s (for life) and they have to pay for their own mandatory raises every year...

I would have every young man at age 18 or when they graduate from high school pull 4 years in the Service of this flea bitten Country. That includes your kids, mine and all of the Senators too.
We can get into a long drawn out discourse of our belief's if you like. I stand for what's right (for my family, Country and beliefs), not whats correct for the current day. My attitude has not and will not change. Be prepared and ready to do what is needed. If you are as "worldly" as you would have us all believe, you would know how the real world is. There are countless and I mean countless of evil people out there that would gut your family just because they happen to be Americans. I for one could care less what their reasons are, I would rather have my act together if they come calling. I have personally seen what men will do for money, ideology, brain washing,etc........ If I remember you said in passing that you were a Marine (no my opinion hasn't changed about that either), if so you know in this "imperfect" World we live in, we have to have folks that are with us when we get the call. There are very few that I would rather have with me when the "sh t hit's the fan" than an Isreali soldier. Fact of the matter is, WE do alot of what we do to keep Isreal from doing what they would like to do. Of course with your stated previous experience in life, you already know the above, but your current brainwashed state just won't let you say it. LF, not sure if you're antisemitism is how you really feel or just a rouge but if we neglect to stand with Isreal the middle east will crumble under radical Muslim control. If you look at all that Israel/Jews have contributed, just in Nobel prizes, compared to Muslims? Jews contribute to the betterment of the world in a huge way. I for one support people who contribute, rather than those who don't. Historically, God told Abraham he would bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you and I'd rather be on the blessing side of things.
Frank, you are right about small business taxes being out of control. I personally am sick of paying all the taxes of being self-employed. Maybe we should join the "Montana Freemen"? If we cut the benefits of present and past politicians to the number of years they served, not lifetime, we would save millions. I say sell California back to the Mexicans, make some bucks. Recall all our foreign aid and loans, stop sending bribe money to Pakistan, tell Iraq and Afganistan they have to reimburse the US, Stop letting foreign countries steal our ocean resources( make them buy it from us instead), maybe we could get somewhere. Let's get rid of the IRS and have a flat tax for everyone who makes more than say $30k/year.
Frank, you're right about never seeing a Mexican suicide bomber. They got too much common sense. Heck, give a Mexican a sack of concrete, some straw, 2- 2"x4"'s, and 5 taco's and he could build a 3 bedroom house with a hammer, a bandana and some spit and build it in 2 weeks!
